Have you heard about Switch Flops and Snap Shoes? Well they are both at SwitchFlops.com by Lindsay Phillips and they are a completely excellent idea. You start by buying a pair of flip flops ($24) or flats ($64) from their website. Then you can purchase any number of chic-looking interchangeable snaps or straps ($12 each) so you can have many unique looks from just one pair of shoes! I myself love the Liz black and Liz gold flats. Above, you can see two of my creations with the Marissa snap on the black flats and the Bernice snap on the gold. If the price of $64 for flats sounds a little steep to you, you are in luck- there is a fabulous giveaway happening at FairyGodmotherBlog.com! You could win your choice of Snap Shoes in black or gold, but hurry because the giveaway ends Tuesday, March 2nd. OVER

I have this thing where I shop for various items online, but I do not ever buy anything. I just like imagining owning pretty pieces of clothing or jewelry. One website that especially contributes to this endeavor is Modcloth.com. Here are my findings:
Conclusion reached: There are oh so many cute things to buy and I, being a poor college student, will never have enough money to have them all. But I can always dream.

Presenting my newest crush: Matt Johnson from Matt & Kim.
He reminds me of a mix between Matt Bomer, Ewan McGregor, and that gay guy in Nick and Norah's who headbutts someone.
The only thing is, he seems to be dating someone. Who is it again? Oh yes that's right, it's Kim. That makes so much sense!
You should listen to Daylight first. They are touring in Europe until June, but I hope to see them in concert some day. Soon.

I have this obsession. Well, a few obsessions actually, but this is one of them. I am obsessed with Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers.
I have even gone so far as to buy a couple for myself and then rationalize that it is Valentine's Day coming up and they are my present to myself. And my collection is almost complete! I only need Peony and then I will have them all. I love that they have delicious sounding names like Papaya and and Guava and Nutmeg. But my absolute favorite color is Merlot.
They are a little pricy at $5 each, but they last forever and are fantastic. So if you have not already, you should buy some! If you are looking for bright color, I would recommend Merlot except you can now only get it on the Burt's Bees website. If you are looking for something a little less attention-grabbing but still fabulous, I would advise that you purchase the Rhubarb.

Here is my confession: although I absolutely adore anything Jane Austen, I have never liked or enjoyed Emma. Until now that is! After suffering through Kate Beckinsale's and Gwyneth Paltrow's (who I am sure are very nice people, I just was not a fan of either rendition) performances as the title character in question, I have found who I was waiting for all along: Romola Garai.
She plays a lovely, effervescent, likeable Emma that makes me, for once, want to watch and rewatch and rerewatch this 2009 BBC production. Jonny Lee Miller as Mr. Knightly does not hurt things either. Not in the slightest, in fact. He actually gives me little stomach tinglies in a way Jeremy Northam never could. Just look at that:
Did you know he was married to Angelina Jolie for 3 years? Well I sure did not. Anyway, I think dear Jonny and Romola look just darling together and I loved their dancing scene in Emma ever so much.
I have mixed feelings about March 9th because: 1) I am very sad because that is when it will no longer be on the Masterpiece Theater website for viewing. but 2) I am also just a tad excited because if it is no longer online to watch, that means I will most probably have to buy it so I can watch it whenever I want. So to recap, sadness plus anticipation.
If you have not seen the new Emma, go watch it! What are you waiting for? I think you will enjoy it immensely and it is only 4 hours long.
So that is what I think about that. This is definitely my favorite adaptation of Emma and I was surprised by how much I loved it. However my all-time, best-of-all, superbly done, favorite times infinity Jane Austen adaptation is and always will be Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle, which I will post about at a later date.
And, just for you, here is a link to go win Emma on DVD! Fantastic! OVER
